Salvador Island, located in the southeastern Bahamas, is a sparsely populated

waters. Only 385 miles southeast of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, San Salvador
is accessible by scheduled and charter air flights direct to a modern
4,400 foot paved airstrip, or by sea to our deep water marina which offers
harbor with electric and water hook-ups for visiting yachtsman.
To facilitate all customs formalities, San Salvador is an official Bahamas
Port of Entry. World renowned as the first landing point for Columbus
in the New World on October 12, 1492, and hence sometimes still referred
to as Columbus Isle, San Salvador is
just 12 miles long by 5 miles wide, the exposed peak of a submerged mountain

One of the most common questions we get is "how do we get there?" The honest answer is that getting to San Salvador is sometimes a bit of a challenge, depending on your home destination. But once you have landed on the San Sal tarmac, your vacation stay with us will be nothing but easy and thoroughly enjoyable.
Here are the current options to get to San Salvador and Riding Rock:
There is a daily scheduled flight out of Nassau, Bahamas on Bahamasair as of December 2015. Please check the latest schedule and price at: http://bahamasair.com. Fall Season only on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturdays. The flight leaves Nassau at approximately 1:20 pm. If a connecting flight does not arrive in Nassau at least 2 hours prior to the Bahamasair departure time, guests should consider arriving in Nassau the day before. The return flights departs San Salvador at 2:40 pm, arriving in Nassau at 4:25pm.
If you prefer not to overnight in Nassau, there is currently a Jet Blue flight that leaves Fort Lauderdale, Florida for Nassau Saturday morning at approximately 7:00 am. Please check the latest schedule and price at: https://www.jetblue.com. This flights arrives in Nassau at 8:04 am, early enough for you to catch the scheduled Bahamasair flight to San Salvador. Depending on your home location, this may entail an overnight stay in Fort Lauderdale. Fort Lauderdale is famous for its beaches, arts, culture and events with a wide range of accommodations and a great place to spend the day and evening before departing for San Salvador. Unfortunately, the return Bahamasair flight San Salvador/Nassau does not arrive in Nassau until 1:20 most days, which does not allow for a legal connection with the JetBlue 2:35 pm departure for Fort Lauderdale.
There is a Thursday and Sunday direct flight from Miami to San Salvador via a Club Med Charter on American Eagle available to Riding Rock guests when booked via our reservations office for $549.00 per person round trip on Thursday’s and $599.00 per person round trip on Sunday’s. Blackout dates may apply. This flight departs Miami at 11:45 am arriving in San Salvador at 1:00 pm. The return leg departs San Salvador at 1:45 pm arriving Miami 3:05 pm. Flights may be booked for 4 night (arrive Sunday depart Thursday) or 7 night stays only.
There is a Saturday-only flight (fall and winter) for $675.00 per person round trip and Tuesday-only flight (spring and summer) for $855.00 per person round trip, non-stop flight from Montreal, Canada to San Salvador via a Club Med/Air Canada that is available to Riding Rock guests booking with our reservations office. Black-out dates apply, and there is an upcharge imposed during holiday periods. You need to be at the check-in counter at the Pierre Elliot Trudeau airport no later than 7:00 am for your 9:00 am departure. The return flight leaves San Salvador the following Saturday/Tuesday at 13:50, arriving in Montreal at 17:25. Any connecting flights out of Montreal should be scheduled for 19:45 or later.
For groups of up to 19 people:
We can arrange a special Saturday-only charter out of Nassau, Bahamas to San Salvador for $4,400.00 one way. You will need to be able to check-in for this flight in Nassau by 3:00 p.m. and schedule your return home flight out of Nassau after 12:00 noon the following Saturday. This charter must be paid in full 60 days prior to your scheduled arrival date in order for it to be confirmed and is non-refundable once paid.
For groups of 20 or more people:
We can arrange to have BahamasAir modify the schedule of their Saturday flight to/from San Salvador. You need to be at the check-in counter at the Nassau Airport no later than 2:00 p.m. and schedule your return home flight out of Nassau after 1:00 p.m. on your Saturday of departure. This flight must be paid in full 60 days prior to your scheduled arrival date in order for it to be confirmed and is non-refundable once paid. This option costs $225.00 per person round trip with a minimum of 20 people. Where to Stay on the Way...
If it is not always possible to get from your destination of origin to Riding Rock the same day, Nassau offers a wide range of options for overnighting. From the thrifty "I just need a place to lay my head" Orange Hill, to the "close but so cozy" A Stones Throw Away to the "I start my vacation NOW" luxury of the Melia Nassau Beach Hotel.
Orange Hill is the most moderately priced, close to the airport location on Nassau. The property has a variety of room types available for individuals, couples and families. There is also a pool and restaurant on property.
A Stones Throw Away is only 1.60 Miles from Nassau International Airport. It is perched on one of the highest elevations near the coast and offers a rare panoramic view of Nassau’s land and sea. The property was built to echo the traditions of an old Bahamian home: wood floors and wood ceilings, louvered shutters and a large wrap around porch bring the visitors back to a quieter time long ago when the music of the islands could be heard in the whispers of the trade winds. It is a very small property accommodating only 20 guests only in 8 rooms and 2 suites.
